When the Hustle Hurts: Healing from Professional Heartbreak
May 13 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Join us for a special edition of our Black Girl Therapy Sessions — a powerful “book study” style conversation centered around the HBR article “When Your Job Breaks Your Heart.” In this honest and reflective space, we’ll explore the idea of professional heartbreak — the grief, disillusionment, and identity crisis that can follow career losses, layoffs, betrayals, or the end of a dream you poured your heart into.
Together, as Black women navigating entrepreneurship, we’ll unpack the stories and themes in the article — from workplace betrayal and moral injury, to the loss of identity and burnout — and give space to the often unspoken pain that comes with ambitious leadership and entrepreneurship. There will be some time for silent journaling as well.
This session will be co-facilitated by Coach K, Kim Fuller, one of our Sistahbiz “resident therapists”, and Dr. Tiffany Slater with HR Tailormade, all of whom are offering both guided reflection and open dialogue as we share our own stories, feel seen, and begin to process. Whether you’re navigating your own heartbreak or supporting someone who is, this session offers healing, sisterhood, and tools to move forward with compassion and clarity.
